On Friday, in what may yet to prove to be a futile attempt to sort out and neaten the area in which I work, I emptied out a flower pot that I unearthed from the Ungodly Pile (the area to the left of my work space which might be described as a computer case graveyard or the place where audio and video tapes go to die with equal accuracy). Herein are recorded the contents of that pot for historical accuracy and my readers' amusement.
- 1 functioning pencil sharpener
- 4 squeeze clips (2 medium, 2 small)
- 1 necklace with ceramic yin yang charm/pendant
- 4 bits of eraser (1 broken pink pearl, 2 broken unidentifiable beige, 1 cylindrical green)
- 1 phone jack splitter
- 15 pen caps (6 blue generic ball point, 3 black bic ball point, 1 black generic ball point, 3 Sanford fine tipped uniball with ridges, 1 black Crayola marker (fat), 1 purple Crayola marker (thin))
- 6 rubber bands (1 extra large, 5 standard)
- 10 AA batteries (5 Duracell, 2 Super Lamina, 2 MahaCell, 1 Energizer)
- 5 plastic paper clips in the chape of fish (red, green, blue, purple, and clear)
- 3 audio jack modifiers (1 big, 2 small)
- 1 tiny computer casing screw
- 1 apparently perfectly shaped skipping stone
- 3 pennies
- 1 unindentifiable Indian coin
- 1 unidentifiable hot pink plastic object that comes smoothly apart in two sections
Of the lot I kept the flower pot itself (in which my styli are neatly arranged) squeeze clips and the Pink Pearl eraser, filed away the phone jack splitter, and the audio jack modifiers, took the fish shaped paper clips home with me, and tossed the rest.
